Once per year, Amy and I return to the United States for a short “home assignment.” On the deputation trail, we have the privilege of visiting Nazarene congregations and reporting what God is doing in Africa through Nazarene higher education and clergy development.
This year, our travels take us to West Texas and Oklahoma. Last night at the Lantana Community Church in Bartonsville, Texas, we met Rev Paul Marshall (pictured). He served as a Nazarene educational missionary to Malawi from 1964-1978, then came to Texas where he pastored until retirement. It was fun getting acquainted and trading notes about Africa.
From Amy’s reading
“Our motivation for missions should be simple. It is worship. It is an act of love.” – Bo Cassell, in Global Christianity: The Life We’re Called to Live (Kansas City: Nazarene Publishing House, 1999), 39
